stereogamous ist ein Berliner

The 4th XPOSED International Queer Short Film Festival Berlin returns to SCHWUZ for it’s 4th year of showing queer films from abroad to an enthusiastic Berlin pride week audience! On June 25th prepare for an onslaught of Queer short films and Documentaries by, about and from Turkey!

After beginning during the 2006 Pride Week in Berlin, the XPOSED International Queer Short Film Festival has brought past XPOSE on many countries from abroad, including Australia, Canada and Korea! This year in our fourth year, we have decided to take a look at Queer Living from Turkey, for many of us here in Berlin, our neighbours, that we would love to get to know better.

Through these films we hope to introduce you to the lives of Queer people in Turkey, how they go about their lives, what their dreams are, what they face in daily situations and what it may be like to be Queer and Turkish. A number of the Shorts we are screening this year are real, they are documentaries taken from very personal points of view and shared in an entertaining, moving and often satirical and comical way. Such as is ‘Rent A Boy’ and ‘He/She Berlin’. The program is also mixed with some boldly told dramas and erotic stories from ancient myths such as in ‘Makbul – his Favouriet One’ the story of the Chief caretaker of the Sultan and the daily, homo-erotic ritual of washing the Sultans feet. Plus the powerful ‘Lots Wife’ which centres around the tale of Sodom and Gomorrah.

This year we will also be celebrating these films by throwing a massive party, hosted by Trixi von Heute, we will be turning SCHWUZ into the inside of a Turkish Water Pipe, complete with International Entertainment from renowned Australian DJ Seymour Butz / stereogamous plus Mikki_P and on our indierock-trash floor, our very own local Desolation Disko King & Das Ponymaedchen.

XPOSED is about XPOSER and XPOSING. It’s about FUN, BERLIN and it’s about TIME! ‘The XPOSED international queer short film festival berlin’ was created to bring Queer Short Films from other nations to Berlin during Pride Week and to provide international Xposure for Queer Filmmakers from around the world. This year, we will also be announcing from which nation our 5th Anniversary will be focusing on. It is going to be HUGE!

This Festival is Proudly Supported by the Teddy Foundation and is presented by Siegessaule.

stereogamous on vinyl! snapz

Coming June 14th
We Have Band: They Say: "Artists We Also Like: ESG. !!!. The Rapture. Arthur Russell. The Slow Life. Influences: Georgian Red Wine and Elephants."

I made friends with We ave Band via myspace (yes, it really still works) Super nice and sweet and friendly. To be lazy I'd say they are a hybrid of the B52s, ESG and Talking Heads 2013. Big call I know, but they are on to something special.

We Have Band first got in contact to use the remix of Mandy Warhol's "i'm Gay" for a compilation. (Did you know that the track was the "most played" on floats at The Sydney Gay & Lesbian Mardi Gras. A "Float Anthem" if you will...

Stereogamous were later commissioned to remix "You Came Out" and now it is seeing the light of day on vinyl. Along side such UK luminaries as The lovely JonJo (Butt Magazine, Durr), Cage & Aviary and Clouded Vison. The release also features the band's well ace cover of The Pet Shop Boys "West End Girls." I know these cats are going to be everywhere soon... believe me.
Will drop details on how to order and so on soonish...

JOHN II - the second coming

●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●●

Greetings lovers,
well it's been a lil' time between drinks on here. Apologies for being a slack arse (speaking figuratively y'know) I've literally had "the best summer ever" full of amazing shows, super gigs, beautiful friends, delicious food, brilliant sunrises... anyway I have a truck load of pics and mixes to post up soon.

The trough Faggot collective designed the JOHN party for me which was insanely friendly and fun. I highly recommend it to anyone seeking a challenge to the lame cheesey=poof parties that dominate the "scene" out there. Hello Midnight Shit / Farq / Ect. It was deffo the party of the season. Plus Kooky, Urge and the underbear @ laird...

So what could be better than the second coming?

JOHN II picks up where JOHN I left off so now you find yourself at a crucial turning point. Do you call him or shall you meet him there? And what do the stars say and how will he have his hair? Whether one rhymes or twice is nice, it's a safe bet that there'll be a few hets but I don't care. I want it. John. Be a doll. Say 3 hail muscle marys and take me for a walk through the glory, whole.

JOHN II; two dancefloors, 7 djs, glory whole, backbeats and a night dedicated to John Travolta. Oh Travs.

On the night, John Seymour returns from Sin City, for an exclusive Melbs performance, and Adam Askew celebrates the release of his 12" vinyl under the name of The Delicate Genius.

From the annals of Honky Tonks to the lights of the stadium stage, Andee Frost has DJed along side the troop: 2 Many DJs, The Presets, The Avalanches, and a few sneaky peaks. We love him truly, madly deeply in his role as wiseman at HearNow Records where he weens the young onto dance vinyl. Tonight, we light a candle for Andee Frost as he beats off electric.

"Wow... he's actually getting a tounging from that guy while taking a leak into that guys mouth at the same time... the gays do like to share at Mardi Gras..."

Trough Faggot Party landed in Sydney for a Gay Mardi Gras Blow Out. It was nice to see the name up in lights. Freaked out a few straighto potatoes who had to share the Gents. Go Sydney where we can all just get along fine.

This is an blog to announce the dance party JOHN set to launch on March 27th in Melbourne

::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

WHEN:
JOHN happens on the last good Friday of every month, from March 27th

::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

WHERE:
TOP and BOTTOM levels of INFLATIONS at Geddes Lane (near the corner of King St and Flinders lane), Melbourne.

::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

JOHN SEYMOUR (seymour butz / jonny / stereogamous)
The man behind Sydney's Club Kooky and the remixer of top acts from Grace Jones to folk at Kitsune and Modular, our name twin and our patron saint John brings the beats of Sin City to the JOHN. But don't think that the Sydney style is all tits and class. He may have been asked to spin for Kylie and Linda Evangelista but it's never a girlies night out with Seymour. If you heard him at the TROUGH, you know that his reach is masculine and deep. Dude, Hi NRG is best left in your pants.

PETER MCNAMARA Anyone clubbing in Melboune throughout the last decade would have been touched by the hands of Mr Peter McNamara. With Peter on the decks at the JOHN, it's time to teach the twinks what made pre-millenium Tasty and Freakazoid institutions that made our sphincters tremble with anticipation each time the weekend came around. And sister, uh uh uh. Before you even try it. You can't get more manly than McNamara: Sleaze, Laird, tick.
VIVA L'AMOUR The delightful Viva L'Amour can turn a head full of gay men by the flick of her wrist on the box. Yet no man can pin her either side of the Yarra. From Alia, to the Lucky Coq, or at the Carlton late in the night, she will tease you with her full house. Fellas, don't take her bluff: she knows her Gang of Four from her Bang Gang. Amen.

DJS:
BOTTOM cosmos / indie / rave / italo / electro
BROMANCE Young gun Bromance can be found playing amongst the skinny bars of downtown, such as St Jeromes and Inner City Waste, or indeedy manning up to support the likes of Yacht, or Ajax. Tight jeans dance hell yeah love it.
BRAISED ROMAN BEANS & BIG BABY DICK CHEESE Raised from the TROUGH for popular demand, Roman and Big Baby mash up musical flavours like gelati on Lygon Street. From backdoor italo jams on TripleR to bigups during Paris Fashion week, you can hear these guys all over the cosmos. Like the truest of true baby dj angels sent from heavens above, they hide their identities at the JOHN.
ADAM ASKEW He is the dj's dj who’s polite enough to slap on one of his own re-edits from The Smiths to Yazoo . He tells us he’s totally het but we know he’s played with an array of men: Andrew Weatherall, Mike Simonetti and Simian Mobile Disco. ::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

Also, please let us know if you wish to be removed from the mailing list. All emails will be coming from john@troughfaggotparty.com in the future. We will give you one more reminder before the 27th to remind you to get on the guestlist. :
:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

Thanks for reading Johns ::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

As part of New Zealands Hero Festival I'm back in the best man bar in the Pacific Ocean. The Urge Bar plays host to the Sauna Sessions this Saturday night. it sounded a lil something like this

(click to embiggen)
What I listened to in 2008, according to lastfm. Pretty teched up by the looks of it. I was lucky enough to meet Dusty Kid in Italy (thanks bearemy!) See Hercules and Love Affair live in London and Sydney (amazing!) See my nephews The Presets win over everyone from homos at Folsom Street to totally own the Australian Recording Industry Awards. My friend Grace Jones returned from being Grace Jones and released an Album that was completely, Grace Jones. I have had the title track "Hurricane" on a test pressing since 1992. Fo reals! Looking forward to hanging with her next week.
The rest is an amazing selection of mostly Berlin electronic artists. They get me every time... so deep. Totals looking forward to what will be going in my earhole this year.

we love the robots

Summer started officially in Sydney last Sunday. I headed to Global Gathering to check out my pals Chris Lego, Lauren Flax and Casey Spooner support Kraftwerk! I got Autobahn for my 5th birthday so it was a special childhood recolection one for me. In fact everyone. The room looked completely mesmerized/in awe, even the little methhed up munchkin jigging away in front of me. It was a sweaty sauna session meets church experience. Thanks to our draconian laws there were an army of sniffer dogs at the ticket box and main gate to get into this gig. The security was heavier than the popes visit. Over 50 people were arrested for carrying "prohibited substances." By now the possibility of getting searched upon entry to any dance event (no sniffer dogs seen at the opera house, hey) is as real as the booking fee. The chance of getting arrested is also extremely high. The message is clear: Don't take anything with you! - take it before entry.

with gay love to california

I became a fan of "milk" on facebook. Not the stuff from cows, goats or penises though. I saw "Milk" by Gus Van Sant. Everybody knows it is the new Sean Penn movie right? You know the guy who once dated Madge-onna. So off you go!
No. To be fair it is the biopic of Harvey Milk, the first openly gay elected official in the USA. Wow. I know, its very so last month for my San Francisco lovers, but it isn't being released until the new year here in oz. Take tissues and be prepared to be inspired like and angry student. Harvey Milk was so on it. Times only changed because of his ability to get the people moving. Still the situation is still pretty lame for the 'mo's. I did this clip before the amazing Jack Black & family one, but I still wanted to share. I'm sure Mr Milk would approve.
